Celebrating the Ride
You’ll Find What You’re Looking For
Get your best pair of glasses on because you will always find what you are looking for, and I want you to be on high alert for the good stuff.
I mean it.
Stop and just observe yourself.
Notice the things that are capturing your attention these days.
Are you hemming and hawing over work, work, work that you need to accomplish?
Are you crying in the fetal position over the negative tone surrounding politics at present?
Do you make lists upon lists of your anticipated bills and agonize over a bank account that seems to fall short every time when you imagine it on paper?
Beating yourself up over that individual-sized pumpkin pie that admin put in your mailbox with a cute little thank you note that you demolished before you even reached your office? Yeah. I just saw you lick the sticky part of the note. Two extra calories down the drain. Boy, you’re fat!
OR
Do you celebrate the wins you have each week? Look at you go.
I mean it!
You seriously did all that, and you left on time to go nurture your personal goals and family time? WHAT, brother? You worked out for an hour everyday, too?
Stop it!
Annnnnd you volunteered to help with the “Friendsgiving” set up.
I can’t!
Wait-am I hearing you correctly? You want to be informed and involved in important issues taking place in our country and our world, but you have established healthy boundaries by choosing the amount of time you will consume the news and you have a “no argue” policy when it comes to discussing it?
Can you write a book for me to read?
I would love to embrace your approach to contributing to change while also maintaining your composure.
Haha!! The “bills” thing. I love what you just said, and it is so true! Same for me. No matter how gloomy my budget looks on paper, somehow I always seem to have just what I need. Trusting that does get us far, indeed!
Holidays highs equal pies! That’s good.
You’re funny.
Yes!! Enjoy the sweets and lick the dern sticky part of your thank you note while you’re at it. How else does one clean their fingers in the hallway?
Getting the Idea?
We’ve got choices.
With each scenario there is a little of “this” or a little of “that”. A little “bombed” or “blessed” going on.
Stopping to really pay attention to our general responses to life can be a real eye opener, and let’s agree it is not easy.
Inserting the practice of gratitude-allowing ourselves to find brighter edges to even our darker corners-can be life changing!
Grasp a Greta-Tude
The cool thing about discovering the powers of practicing the art of gratitude is that it grows in ways you never expected. It won’t take you long to feel addicted to its pleasures.
Warning: The more you embrace your gift for gratitude, the more you may begin to notice when you are not.
Lately, I’ve gotten a few good giggles at work because every time I try to type my name (Greta), it autocorrects to “Great”. I secretly wonder what the recipients of my emails must think. Boy, this girl has an elevated self-esteem. Haha!
But it has me playing with all the versions of myself.
Greta the Great-Greata
Greta with a Thankful Attitude- Greta-Tude

Poor Lil Greta Who Feels Sorry for Herself Sometimes-Griping Greta
The simple act of practicing gratitude has me hanging out more with Greta-Tude every chance I can.
Ripple Rousers
I’ll leave you with this one last thought today. The cool thing about discovering the powers of practicing the art of gratitude is that it creates ripples.
You’re setting the tone, and people are loving you for it. You’re granting us all permission to find the good, and that is pretty darn lifechanging.
Eat the pie. Lick the thank you note. Leave work on time. Set healthy boundaries. Trust your paycheck to do its thing.
And above all else-
Hang out with Greta-Tude and be a ripple rouser!
Where will you start today?

Loving Greta the Great!
I love this so much! And I love Greta-tude, that’s awesome! You are great (glad autocorrect recognizes that too) and I am so grateful to know you-I mean Greta-ful :) Happy Holidays my friend ❤️
